Do you hear the roar? No? Weird, because this poster makes more noise than even a twin-cylinder out of phase at 8000 rpm! A triumph of roaring yellow, wheelie white and asphalt black that catapults you straight into the smoking heart of the 70s, where the tires were narrow, the suits were made of (real) leather and your knees were seriously scraped.
The appointment? Every Friday night at 8, because you know: the real centaur doesn't need the weekend to break the clock. The place? The mythological (and totally imaginary) Vigorelli Speedway in Milan, a ¼ mile track of pure dust, mud and glory where dreams go askew.
The protagonists? Two heroes bent like spaghetti al dente, launched into a wild dance of skids, adrenaline and incandescent exhausts. The number 1 is not there by chance: he is the number 1, at least until the next bend.
And the price? L. 4,500. (the old lira the young will remember) An investment for the soul, when the soul has the taste of the mixture and the synchronized beat of a points ignition.
Conclusion? This poster is a visual elbow in the teeth of boredom. It is the manifesto of a time that never existed, but that we like to think we remember. If art could do burnout, this one would have already left three on the wall.
